my son has the talking ‘Guess what?’ Elmo, for everyday of the week he has a different subject that he asks questions about. This morning Elmo said “Do balls jiggle?” and “Elmo loves balls!”, LOL.
I know its just a kids toy but why would they make it say that? I think its like hidden humor for adults, maybe to make the toy less annoying for parents. When my son was younger he had another toy that was a stand or go activity center for babies to help them learn to stand and walk, it had lots of buttons and each button had a different picture of an animal and each button was a different color, well the red button had a picture of a pig and when pressed it said “I’m the pig! Whoa you better slow down!” and then it would play a sound like a police siren! LOL
have you noticed anything about one of your kids toys that might be considered hidden humor for adults??

oh I forgot to add that after Elmo asks if balls jiggle, he says “he he he, he he he he”
I don’t have kids and haven’t come across any such toys….....but I think I want one of those Elmo’s…..just too funny! :)
I like that when Robosapien gets turned off he shakes is hand and goes “Rosebud”. Yay for Citizen Kane references in kids toys!
We actually have one of these.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll get rich selling it on eBay some day.
Its not a sound, but has anyone seen the actions of the Elmo TMX? Let’s just say it looks like he’s having a lot of fun without anyone but his hand for company…
I always liked Elmo, now I know why.
My kid’s 18, so no toys around. Now I wanna go to Toys r Us tho and look!
That reminds me of a joke I got in my email:
A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory. The personnel manager explains her duties, and tells her to report to work promptly at 8:00 AM. The next day at 8:45AM, there’s a knock at the personnel manager’s door. The assembly line foreman comes in and starts ranting about this new employee. He says she’s incredibly slow, and the whole line is backing up. The foreman takes the personnel manager down to the factory floor to show him the problem.
Sure enough, Elmos are backed up all over the place. At the end of the line is the new employee. She has a roll of the material used for the Elmos and a big bag of marbles. They both watch as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles, and starts sewing the little package between Elmo’s legs.
The personnel manager starts laughing hysterically. After several minutes, he pulls himself together, walks over to the woman, and says, “I’m sorry, I guess you misunderstood me yesterday. Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles.”
My kids are too old for talking toys now. When I was a kid in the fifties my brother and I had a Robert the Robot.
