Does Washington state hit 85% humidity?

Asked by willbrawn (6619points) September 21st, 2008 from iPhone

if not. What states do? The reason I ask is because a camera I want can only handle that much humidity.

If you mean “in what states does the relative humidity ever get to 85% or above?”, then the answer would be “All of them”. If it’s raining, the RH is 100%, even if you’re in Arizona.

It rains a lot in Washington but the humidity isn’t bad. Nothing like it is in the south or the east.

Here’s a chart of average AM and PM relative humidities for US cities. Seattle is at 83% average in the morning. Spokane is at 78%. Afternoon relative humidities are usually much lower because the temp is higher.
