One of my favorite quotes: Don’t insult the alligator until you’ve crossed the river. I think that fits as good advice as well.

one of my favorite quotes is… ” when we wake up in the morning, we have two simple choices. Go back to sleep and dream, or wake up and chase those dreams”
Two come to mind as I reply to this…I probably could have come up with something more insightful given more time…..

Just as gailcalled’s “The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of”, I love that.

“It’s so good, you’ll slap yo’ mama!”
I once told a friend this advice/quote when she was going through a rough time with guys. And thought there was noone there when she always came to me so obviously I was there.
Lots of people “think” they have nobody, when all they need to do is turn the mirror around to see all the people they’ve been missing because they’ve been looking ahead instead of right beside them.
Also, a friend of mine, while wasted, made a really good one.
If you get too caught up in the day-to-day you will miss out on the day today.
I heard this one a few days ago, in some TV show: “better safe than sterile” :P

I am a big quotes freak so I cannot choose one as a favorite. But one that comes to mind right now is “those who anger you control you”

“Don’t be an idiot.”
It changed my life.
When I’m about to do something I stop and say, “Would an idiot do that?”
If the answer is yes, then I do not do that thing.
When I was in middle school, I wanted to be one of the popular girls so I was thinking about going out for cheerleading. My mom said, “Laureth, if you want to go out and do something, go do it. However, do the thing, don’t just cheer for the people that are doing something.” She was totally right!
