pwning, owning, and schooling are pretty much the same thing. all means youve been beat pretty badly, no scratch that.. really badly and thus a n00b is born

LOL. The urban dictionary definition is awesome. I actually didn’t know it came from pure ownage.

Anyway we were all noobs once.

Another perhaps definition of how the word came to be is:

Originally dates back to the days of WarCraft, when
a map designer mispelled “Own” as “Pwn”. What
was originally supose to be “player has been
owned.” was “player has been pwned”.

Pwn eventually grew from there and is now used
throughout the online world, especially in online
games.
