How long would you naturally sleep if nothing woke you up?

Asked by Gabbigirl (56points) March 31st, 2008 from iPhone

Last night I slept 9 hours, woke up only because I heard my housemates, then slept for three more hours. Why do I sleep so long if we only need 8 hours? Is it good to sleep that long once in a while or not?

I wake up between 5:00a.m. and 5:30a.m. est., no matter what. Damn internal clock!

Last week when I wasn’t feeling well, I slept about 13 hours, with only one hour-long break. But usually I would sleep about 10 hours without interruption. I think that 8 hours is just a general average. But I love it, too! Such a safe and happy pastime…

oh me and my sleep LOL.
I had a thread about it last week. I always say I’ll sleep when I’m dead but boy do I love my sleep. I love my sleep when I’m having a really cool dream and try to make myself to back if I wake up. Hmm wonder if people do that too?

II think my natural benchmark is probably in the neighborhood of 9 hours. Any more than that and I actually wake up tired. Once I factor in dogs, kids, and my work schedule, I rarely sleep more than 5–6 hours at a time though.

yea I could sleep for 12 to 13 hours if I was tired and stayed up all night having a LAN Party…. If I go to bed around 10:30/11 then about 8 or 9 Usually tho, ill get about 5 to 7 hours of sleepz. But I love me a good sleep =D
