I would not want to know the day I’m going to die ahead of time. Consider death row. The very idea is almost horrifying.

If my time were running out, I would want to know – but something more along the lines of the doctor estimating you have three months to live. An actual day is way to specific…I would just count it down…

Yes, because I have a bucket list, and it would be nice to know when I’m going to die, so I can do those things before i kick the bucket. then i could be prepared to die.

I think I might love that.
That way I would get a few things done ;)

No way. My unrealistic expectation of living forever enables me to live a comfortably unproductive lifestyle. Why would I want to fuck that up?

janbb's avatar

Maybe a few days beforehand so I could say my goodbyes to those I love, but certainly not further in advance than that.

No, because people have a tendency to live up (or down) to predictions.

BoBo1946's avatar

No, best just to live life one day at time!

sleepdoc's avatar

As long as you aren’t going to wait until that day to tell me I would.

Nope! Even though I hate surprises, that is one I won’t mind if it is a complete surprise!

Seaofclouds's avatar

Nope. I’m with @Cruiser on that one. I don’t really like surprises, but I completely want to be surprised by my death.

AmWiser's avatar

Nah. I absolutely would not know how to live the rest of my life if I knew when I was going to die.

Nah! I like suprises :¬)

I’ll tell you when I’m going to die. It will be the day I’ve decided I’ve lived life to the fullest, and the day I take a boat out to find a shark to wrestle.

Austinlad's avatar

Absolutely not. Too likely I’d stop living the day I knew.

When it comes to a day, no thank you. A time-frame would be different and preferable. For someone who doesn’t prioritize as well as I could, there are things that need to be done and said before the last good-bye.

I’d love to know about when. I could either quit worrying about money, take trips, take trips with my kids, or keep on with the frugality.

After seeing the movie, Big Fish, I would not want to know when (the exact date) but I would want to know how. If I know that I die in a fire in a theatre, I would have no compunction about trying bungee jumping or sky-diving or any number of things that I now avoid.

Paradox's avatar

No, I’d rather be surprised. Knowing would ruin your life.

The doctor gives me an 80 percent chance of survival at 5 years. But, although I love him…who is he with his statistics?

I don’t think I’d like to know the day…but, I intend to use what I have better.

I’ve always been one to enjoy life’s details…but, even more so, now. I enjoy reading flutherer’s words and listening to their hearts. Very interesting.

Thanks for accompanying me through a bit of dark time.
