Obviously, dinosaurs were long gone by the time human beings, and their hunter gatherer ways, came along. But I think everybody has seen science fiction movies where humans interact with dinosaurs. And the truth is, a few critters are still around that are regarded as having followed the dinosaur evolutionary track-allligators, crocodiles, birds etc. And they are certainly edible.
So I wonder. What would dinosaur have tasted like?
Would the meat have been red and dense like beef? Or light and pale like chicken?
I would bet on chicken.

Probably like an alligator or crocodile, right?
Since they are purportedly ancestors of chickens, I vote for that. Maybe really old, tough chicken.
A variant on chicken meat. I would be a little tougher, but hold more protein.
Mmm… raptor sandwiches!
Their taste probably varied based on their diet. I don’t think I’d wanna eat a Tyrannosaurus Rex, but I’d probably go for a Stegosaurus burger. Mmmm, tastes Jurassicy.
What do you mean dinosaurs were long gone before humans? At the Creationist museum, people were like…totally riding ‘em…I bet they tasted like *&%$&.
The chicken we eat today is nothing like in the wild.
I vote for wild game turkey. I’ll have mine with a dash of Stegosauce and a plate of Ginko nuts on the side.
It would taste like Sasquatch ;)
Tough I imagine. Like alligator.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir Is there really a Creationist museum, or are taking advantage of my naivete? Where is it? I must go there.
Yeah i’m going to go with chicken too. I can here the old dears at the butchers now…....“Ooh I say Edna, look at the size of that cock! Gotta have me some of that!”
@josie I’ve been saying for years that I must go there – it would be ridiculously fun but I’d probably get kicked out like yesterday.
I know you shouldn’t answer a question with a question, but….
Doesn’t the term “dinosaur” cover quite a wide range of animals? So, your question is a little like asking what a mammal tastes like.

I’ve also had alligator, kind of tough fishy chicken! And I’ve had turtle soup, really good, so maybe like those.
Maybe duck? I guess that depends on the particular species.
I’ve actually eaten snapping turtle, which I guess is basically a dinosaur. Different parts tasted drastically different. The neck was like tilapia. The “arm-pit”, my friend declared, was like turkey dark mean.
It would depend on what they had been eating, I suspect.
Gamey and like other reptiles id imagine.
I would the the meat would be darker than a chicken… kind of more like a turkey. Depending on how it’s cooked it might not be as dry as turkey can be. If you cook it, I’ll eat it. I’m always up for broadening my culinary palate.
A “Raptor Wrap” might taste like croc meat, n’est ce pas?
Ask me in a past life, past post or, at least a simultaneous one of which I’m not aware.
Spaghetti with tangy cheese!!!!
