What is your favorite parenting blog?
I’ve been contracted to help start a parenting blog (despite the fact that I’m not a parent) and want to see what the competition is up to. I’ve checked out several parenting blogs and I’m looking for new leads.
Any Flutherites care to give me a hand?

Long ago, I started a parenting blog and it didn’t go past the first posting – I think that’s pretty common, lol. I don’t have a favorite parenting blog because they mostly don’t resonate with me, whatsoever. As a queer parent, as a gender non conforming mother who isn’t obsessed about her kids and isn’t a helicopter parent, there are few options. Sometimes I look into HipMama but that’s that.
I rather love Message With A Bottle it’s a first-time stay-at-home father who posts pictures of post-it-notes he leaves around the house. You get things like “Halloween is here! Costume is ready and baby’s poop looks like candy corn!”
This post—and the responses—makes me think that I should start one as well.
@skfinkel I’m not sure how to take that. It sounds like you’re implying my suggestion was poor?
@phaedryx Not at all. It’s just that I would have thought there were hundreds of parenting blogs, and instead there seems to be a dearth.
@skfinkel
I run into parenting blogs all the time, but the vast majority seem to be full of crafts and recipes (which is fine, I love those too!) or endless lectures that I might find on Google when doing research, but not return to read the rest of the blog. The only one that is just “here’s what life is like with a kid” that I’ve really liked is Message with a Bottle”
I have found good discussions on several sites, but one of my favorites is Mom and me. There are several on this list that I often consult for a few nuggets of info.
@Megan64 Mad props for that one. Awesome! Bookmarked.
