What are some creative ways to anonymously thank a stranger?

Asked by Dog (25152points) October 19th, 2010

Not necessarily someone who helped you but someone who has helped a fellow human in need?

Assume that money is no object
How would creatively thank them so that they would never link it back to you or to the original good deed they did?

A card with an anonymous note expressing general thanks for people like them in the world and enclosing a gift card or savings bond (or free and clear deed on the house you are giving them).

Nominate them for a humanitarian award in the community or through their employer, or write a letter to the editor of your community’s newspaper.

No need to thank a stranger anonymously or directly. Express your gratitude by playing it forward and helping someone else in need.

Write to “Dear Abby” and describe the action that the person did, thank them and then sign it anonymous. Then follow @Austinlad‘s advice and pay it forward. Just be a good person and do good deeds throughout your life.

Ooops, I write “playing” ‘stead of “paying.” But y’all don’t what I meant even with the extra “L,” right? ;-)

Depends on the person and situation. Mentioning what they did to others can be good.

@Austinlad I didn’t see the extra “L” until you pointed it out. :-)
