Hypothetically speaking, one morning I go in a coffee shop of some sort (Starbucks?) in a sweatshirt, sweats and flip flops with a really tired/sleepy expression to the point where I just slur my words.
What would your first impressions of me as a bystander?
And if you were the staff there making/ordering my drink?
And also same as above, but if you knew me as a regular customer who is usually up and an extrovert who smiles/converses with the staff a lot?

I would think of you as an addict….it has always amazed me how people who are so useless without coffee can even get motivated to go into Starbucks….
However, if you were a regular customer, I might just assume that you had had a long night out partying or studying, or arguing. Hopefully it was a great night cause it’s mornin’, darlin….
so is this really hypothetical? I hate, hate, hate getting up early and have never gotten motivated enough to drag myself in for coffee. I sleep till the last possible second. Which is why I think it takes a true (Starbucks) addict to drag themselves in.

Hahah, no I am no addict, its just….I’ve got school oh so early in the morning and Starbucks is only a couple blocks away! Also the local cafes around there arent really great. :/
All kinds of people show up for morning caffeine fix—the quick and the half-dead. Not everyone is an early bird. Some can’t cope at all in the morning and caffeine helps. You’d be one of many. Profiled by baristas as a night-owl or at least someone who was up all night studying. Not to worry.
@skittles plus there’s a special barista? (saw previous question) Welcome to Fluther!
I’d probbaly be used to something like that, if I worked early shifts at a coffee shop. I’d hope the coffee you’re getting from us would do the job just fine. :)
One day, I will meet the lurvely luciellex3
People think I can’t get up in the morning because I’m the last one in to the office, barely in time for the 8:47 meeting at the boss’ office to discuss plans for the day ahead.
But the fact is that I’m up most mornings by around 5:30, I read the paper, take a nap, have a nice long shower, then get on the ‘puter for an hour or so with a big ‘ol glass of V8, and then dash out the door to barely make the meeting on time. And I live 6 minutes from work.
I’m so glad that I never developed the coffee habit but if we have another actual revolt over tea in the country for some reason, then I’ll be a Tory for sure.
