I am here because I suffer from chronic pain. Fluther is my pain management plan of choice. Certainly, Fluther is not as good as some narcotics, but I don’t have narcotics, so . . . I have Fluther. I learn mostly, in between bouts of pain. Probably more than anything, Fluther makes me laugh and that is the best pain management strategy I know!

I learn and I occasionally teach. But strangely enough, I think the big draw is: I’m starting to know and like the people.

It’s a fun site, very navigatible and involving, and the people here are great. It’s like a second hobby, an escape from the routine of things, and an escape from work and everyday stress.

Because @Blondesjon cares, because I have no job, because I have nothing else to do.

I love answering questions and the belief that I am sharing useful information through my experiences with other people.

I’m here for the cameraderie. Oh, and the information is nice too.

Not to mention the great pie fights.

@Kayak8 I’ve been without pot and I’ve been without Fluther. I must tell you, I missed Fluther more.

I live around a lot of really right wing people. I come here for a reality check.

For the diversity of opinions and discussions that currently are difficult to find in my little part of the world. Learning at least one new piece of information every day, as well as the questions/answers that result in uncontrollable laughter, create a natural high.

The people are talented and caring. They are the ones that make this tide pool a second home. And I like pancakes.

Guidance; amusement; the opportunity to think about issues that I wouldn’t otherwise encounter in my daily routine.

I am here because Fluther is very interesting. I enjoy answering and asking questions.
I feel like I am back in school because if my writing has grammar and spelling problems,
at the end of my answer I get tagged by Edit. I have to go back and fix the problem before
it goes out. There is so much to learn on Fluther, I am not ready to leave. I am learning
patience. At first I was frustrated when I kept seeing Edit, after asking a question and
received the responses, I began to relax. The members are awesome very knowledgeable,
I could go on and on. I am glad to be here on Fluther.

It’s home.

Everything that you mention. Fluther jellies are able to give a new bent to things I have long stopped thinking about or would never discover on my own, I appreciate it all.

I joined to help and to learn by listening. I came to care about many people here and continue to learn more about others and ironically about myself in the process. It’s become a second home and a touchstone to one type of reality.

I first came to exercise my brain… after 14 years of stay-at-home motherhood, boy did it need it! It wasn’t too long, though, before the real draw was the community. And now, they pay me to be here, too! Awesomesauce.

Wow. All of the above and I don’t have to get dressed to interact with all you fine folks. Or brush my teeth. And I can eat stinky food and you don’t care. And sometimes, I like to be humbled by the sheer erudition and eloquence of some users.
