Best ways to exercise?

So, in the lack of anything else to do, I thought I should do some training. I’m in pretty good shape, but nothing special. So, any special ideas on training, exercises, drills, and protein input? Besides the usual running, ridding bikes, weight lifting, push-ups, etc.

Swimming, tennis & a good run do me just fine.
A simple, brisk walk is good all-around exercise. You can carry hand weights to give your arms a light workout as you go. And I always do a few squats and lunges near the end of a walk (before the cool-down portion).
Hmm.. Well some people may think this idea is retarded, but I suggest a dance or gymnastics class. It really works those areas of your body that you wouldn’t normally be used in regular weight lifting/running/biking/etc. Not only is it good for your body, it’s also fun. There are so many different kids of dance out there, too. I’m a member at my local YMCA and we have Zumba classes which look pretty fun. People of all ages and gender participate. I haven’t tried it yet. I’m more of a pilates and yoga type of gal (which works those hard to reach muscles as well).
Depends on what you wanna focus on.
Get cut?
I recommend the kettlebell + swimming
Increase Stamina?
Tick off some police officers/security guards and parkour your way out of the situation (obstacle runs)
Build muscle?
weight room
Forearms/wrists?
...you know…
Throw two 20 lb dumbells in a backpack and go for a 5 mile hike in the woods. Carry them as long as you can and enjoy your workout.
Walking is the best thing for me. It works wonders.
Bench press a mini fridge ;)
Brisk walking is great, especially if you step up the incline. It can give you a good workout, it’s not as hard on your joints as running, and it’s easy to do every day. I know I couldn’t make myself run two miles twice a week… but I can make myself walk two miles thrice a week, on a nice incline, and I burn calories that way.
Swimming is also a really good way to exercise a whole bunch of muscles, and work on cardio as well.
It has to be something you enjoy. The specific activity isn’t as important as the fact that you will actually do it.
P90x. The absolutely best organized head to toe work out ever. Follow the program at half intensity and it will still produce results.
There are iphone Aps that are a tabata clock and one online here
Gadzooks, please elucidate, what are you trying to get in better shape for? And your goal is more strength, more endurance, both?
