Creative ideas for getting white dog fur out of a black sweater?

Asked by ANef_is_Enuf (26839points) October 23rd, 2010

Somehow my black sweater ended up in the wash with my dog’s blanket. My dog is white, and now my sweater is absolutely covered with fur. I don’t want to put it in the dryer, and I don’t think a standard lint roller would cut it. Any ideas?

Have your husband vacuum you.

Try sellotape. Wrap it backwards around your hand. Could be tough to get out though, if it’s stuck in between the fabric.

Yeah that thick packing tape works for me. Do as lemming said and wrap it backwards around your hand.

DUCT TAPE TO THE RESCUE!!!!

Plus, wash that dog’s blanket with socks, underwear, dishrags, etc.

It seems like it would be easier to remove the hair once the sweater is dry, especially using anything sticky. We use the FedEx sticky envelopes to remove lint and hair at work. You just peel off the sticky protector, slip your hand in it like a mitten and pat the material.

@stratman37 normally I wash the blankets by themselves, the sweater wasn’t supposed to be there, but somehow it managed to sneak in.

I will try the sticky suggestions. Thanks all :)

I have eliminated this problem by only purchasing clothes the same color as my dog. But for those rare occasions when I am forced to buy something in colors other than red and white, I find that wiping over the hairy bits with a damp wash cloth is reasonably effective.
