What's your opinion of women who smoke cigars?

I have a lot of opinions, but very few with regard to women smoking cigars. The first thoughts that come to my mind are that these women must need to reapply lipstick fairly often and they might have rather unpleasant breath.

Stinky.

I can only recall one female friend smoking a cigar, and it was in a social setting out on a back porch with some of the men. They all looked relaxed holding a casual conversation and occasionally blowing out a puff of smoke. There was something appealing about it; much more so then the chatter of women fussing over food and dishes in the kitchen.

Despite that experience, I’m clueless as to why anyone would smoke cigars – male or female. Take up pipe-smoking if you feel so inclined. It has a much better smell.

I haven’t seen that in awhile,but I used to think they were just following a trend.

I have not seen a woman smoke a gar in ages. To each his/her own I say.

Smoking sucks, no matter what kind nor which gender if doing it.

I saw a lot of this 10 years ago, but not so much lately. Actually, I don’t even see men smoking cigars with the same frequency as in the past.

My opinion? I Havana got one :¬)

I haven’t witnessed cigar smoking in women in many years…at least a dozen. And, seeing one now and again wouldn’t necessarily be “the start of a trend”.

As to the reference of smoking a cigar AND having
a tattoo, I wonder, too…how many teachers,
bank tellers, doctors,( insert anything here)...
might be included.

If anyone wants to smoke…cigars or whatever…so be it. Smoke away. Just so I am not subjected to it. If anyone wants a tattoo, fine.

My opinion is to honor other people’s personal choices. As long as they’re not violating the rest of society, why should we feel so strongly about it! As for my opinion of tattood women who smoke…it doesn’t matter. I don’t smoke, I haven’t a tattoo. But, I don’t put up a barrier between those who do and myself.

That they’re classy and sophisticated. :)

My SO is a member of a cigar club and occasionally some of the members will meet up at bars or other places besides the club, so I’ve met and hung out with them. There are two women who are members of the club. One enjoys cigars and is as knowledgeable about them as you can be. The other one, however, has said quite straightforwardly to me that she joined to get an “in” with the guys. She doesn’t care a jot about cigars, but wants to be in the club because it’s all men and she wants all their attention. That seems pretty extreme to me, but that’s what she said. She thinks it gives her some sort of cachet. She’s a “cigar girl” the way some women want to be a “Jeep girl” not because they care about 4-wheeling, but because guys like it. Sadly for her, it didn’t take them long to figure her out and she’s considered a nuisance now. She’s not the first woman I’ve seen approach a group of male cigar smokers and want to join in because it gets her attention. If a woman really likes cigars, I think she’ll have her own to smoke and know something about them.

The same as men who smoke them: It’s gross, but for the occasional celebratory moment I have no problem.

I generally dispise smoking, but I love the smell of cigar smoke. It reminds me of my grandfather.

However a woman smoking a cigar probably wouldn’t remind me of my grandfather (unless she looked liked Jimmy Durante).

It’s a societal statement. Remember when Scarlett was banished to “nap” with the rest of the “fragile flowers” not permitted to take in the conversation on politics? Well there are some women who just aren’t going to sit around with the gals trading fashion tips on shoes that in their opinion are a frivolous waste of money (and airspace) when they could be out on the porch talking about politics or sports, even if admission to the conversation is a cigar and a double Scotch.
It’s been a standing joke at every UPS Christmas party that I will ultimately join the boys for a cigar. It’s the only time I do it…a once a year thing…but it IS for the reasons cited above.

Um, you know, I think you all are derailing this thread. Please, try to focus..the question is: “What has the world come to if women are allowed to tattoo themselves and smoke cigars at the same time? More importantly, when can we take away their children so that their daughters can have some semblance of womanhood instilled in them by proper females like, say, ....?”
