Animal, without a doubt. And I love this.

Oooh, tough one. Kermit was up there, to be sure (what with his being something of the sane one), but I identified with Ernie – especially with regards to his tendency to antagonize Bert. As I got older, I could better appreciate Oscar the Grouch.

Tough choice. I love Kermit, but I have to go with Rizzo the Rat.

I have attempted, on numerous occasions, to answer this question. It is even difficult for me to choose favourite Muppets when narrowed down by show and performer. They’re all so wonderful. It doesn’t help that I’m a wee emotional at the moment due to unrelated issues.

From Sesame Street
Kermit the Frog (as performed by Jim Henson.)
Cookie Monster (as performed by Frank Oz. BONUS: Guy Smiley is my second favourite Sesame Street character of Jim’s.)
Don Music (as performed by Richard Hunt.)
Count von Count (as performed by Jerry Nelson.)

From The Muppet Show
Rowlf and Fozzie Bear (as performed by Henson and Oz, respectively.)
Scooter (as performed by Richard Hunt.)
Gonzo the Great (Dave Goelz still performs Gonzo to this day.)
Sergeant Floyd Pepper (as performed by Jerry Nelson.)

From Fraggle Rock
– This is the only show where I have an absolute favourite and that would be Wembley as performed by Steve Whitmire :)

Bonus Bonus: I lurve Bean Bunny from The Tale of Bunny Picnic.

Gonzo

Beaker or the Swedish Chef for pure silliness – but Kermit was the heart of the show.

On Sesame Street, I like Rosita the fruit bat (who was an import from SS Mexico I believe)

Kermit is rad. I loved Kermit the Frog, I wanted to be his best friend. But Beaker is pretty sweet, he reminds me of myself. ha

It’s Statler and Waldorf, the codgers.
Kermit is my favorite.

Fozzie Bear without a doubt.

Definitely Floyd, with Dr. Teeth coming in a close second.

Beaker, gonzo, animal and the two guys in the balcony. I forgot their names.(but I am singing the muppet show theme song, now!)

How to choose? The answer is, I can’t.
Kermit is just awesome – he’s kind, witty, full of common sense, and has no problem dating outside of his race.
Gonzo has that Fonzie coolness about him with a harem of chickens in his wake.
Beaker – how can anyone not have a soft spot in their heart for him?
Janice – spending an evening hanging out with her is on my Bucket List.
Statler & Waldorf just crack me up, but I wouldn’t want to be on-stage performing if they are in the audience. (Trivia: they were named after two hotels in NYC.)

If you like the Muppets and Christmas music, your collection isn’t complete without the John Denver & The Muppets – A Christmas Together CD. Here is one song from it. The video just cracks me up.

Muppets Take Manhatten FTW!

Yoda. Even if he isnt’ actually a Jim Henson creation.

Muppets Christmas Carol is the best Christmas movie EVER!

cookieman's avatar

@Nullo: I’d count him as Muppet – plus ya got Frank Oz on the voice and puppetry.

Or, as Yoda might say, “Muppet is definitely, yes”.
