And I think operations related to sexual organs count as protection. Whether it was done for that purpose or not.

I use condoms and Depo shot.
I’m a 20-something year old.
I used to bring an M1 Garand on dates.it worked most of the time:)
@lucille Lol….That rifle is older than dirt…...
I use condoms and she is on birth control.
Well, for protection from STDs I use monogamy.
For pregnancy, my wife had herself fixed after our second child.
I lock the door & like to keep the light on, just in case :¬)
@Blackberry -I love that rifle and will get my own as soon as my friend..uh….dies.It’s very effective and you know it! :)
Hysterectomy and menopause.
Security thru fire superiority. I like it L
I have never had to use protection because I have been married. If you keep things to yourself until it is the right time to use it then you don’t need protection.
One… My mind.
I do not sleep with hose bags or sluts.
Most of the time. ;-)
None, I’m married.
@ChazMaz What about pickled wenches?
I have never even had a condom on. :)
@ChazMaz Apparently your hose bag and slut filters work better than mine after they have been soaked in alcohol.
@YoBob – That is why I do not drink. ;-)
@ChazMaz Probably one of the more effective forms of protection… ;)
I can’t wait for the success of that male birth control that is in testing right now. In approximately 3 years, hopefully, I will have a stockpile of it in my closet like Batman costumes.
Do handcuffs & other forms of restraints count?? :-/
@Cruiser I bet it did, even the after-surgery healing time is worth not having sex for weeks I imagine…..
Well, we were using my tubal ligation to protect us from pregnancy. Monogamy protects us from STDs (we were both tested before we started dating). I had my tubal reversed back in May, so now we don’t use anything (and we ended up getting pregnant very quickly).
Before my tubal ligation I used birth control pills and condoms.
@Blackberry (week) Could you honestly wait a weeks to test drive your new car??
@Blackberry I thought they had come up with at least one male BC pill, but not enough men actually wanted it for them to put the funding into making it past the prototype. Course, since I’m not male, I don’t spend shitloads of time researching it…
@papayalily Neither do I, I just know I want it lol. That is surprising if it is true, though.
Against STD’s I used pre sex testing and then reciprocal monogamy.
Against pregnancy I used sterilization after birth control pills failed, twice.
I’m in my 40’s and I’ve never had an STD.
For those of you married and with no protection, are you trying to get pregnant?
Like once you’ve had a kid or two and keep having sex without protection, do you worry about having more kids?
(I’m in my 20s in a monogamous relationship, so my only real worry is getting pregnant.)
I wear galoshes, I carry mace, and put on sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
@Iclamae I specifically had a tubal reversal so we could get pregnant (and we did, the first try). After this little one is born, I’m not 100% sure what we will do yet in between children, but we know we want more children after this one is here.
I ask because when I went to a new doctor for the shot, she was surprised I use condoms and the shot, despite being in a monogamous relationship. So, while the population on Fluther is a bit different from what she might see on a daily basis, I was curious about single protection trends.
I know a few couples that use both condoms and birth control (pills, shots, or iud) because of having just the birth control (pills, shot, or iud) fail in the past so they go for the extra protection from the condom, but still take the birth control.
I personally have no desire to go back on birth control pills because I was starting to have problems with them before I had my tubal ligation (that’s actually most of the reason I had my tubal). I tried the shot after I had my son and I didn’t do well on it. Since we don’t want to wait a long time in between children, I don’t think I’ll get an IUD either. So we’ll either use condoms or try natural family planning. Once we are done having children, my husband said he would get a vasectomy so I don’t have to have another tubal.
@Iclamae Even when I’m in a monogamous relationship, I’m aware of how it only takes one partner one night of stupidity to bring home an STD, so there’s usually quite awhile past officially becoming exclusive to where I feel I can trust them.
Birth control pills and only having one sexual partner.
