Do you ever want to boo someone's answer?

Asked by MyNewtBoobs (19069points) October 26th, 2010

Sometimes, when I’m reading the answers on here, everyone will answer the joking/lighthearted/casual question with a joke, except for that one person that makes it really serious and comes out with a Hallmark answer. And I just want to boo them right off the stage (so far, I’ve held back on actually doing that). Is it just me that has this reaction, or do you, too?

Hmm, not really.

But I am probably that serious person.

Those are the times when you PM the other people on the thread to laugh at that one humorless jellie.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@FutureMemory I’ll have to start doing that….

Not boo so much as throw a pie in their face XD

Sure. I used to do it more often than I do now.
Occasionally, rarely, I still do.
But it doesn’t do any good.
Better to sort of participate than to to boo.
At least on Fluther.

@lucillelucillelucille I’m with you, but I can’t throw pie in a jelly’s face. I can boo them…

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@papayalily I know and that sucks doesn’t it?

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille It sooooo does. I say, we need a new feature, right next to “Great Answer” – Throw pie in face!

Yeah, sometimes I read something and I’m all like, just shut the fuck up and crawl back in your damn cage lol. I’m sure plenty of peeps think the same about me though.

I’m actually for the pie idea.

I think we established pumpkin pie somewhere in one of these threads recently. I vote yes.

Where is a jelly’s face? All sides of a Jelly’s head look the same to me. No discernible face, therefore I get to eat the pie. Someone, please throw me a pie.

Sometimes.

No, I never feel the urge to boo at anything. Sometimes I feel compelled to say an answer is ridiculous, but I very rarely do it.

I think some jellies go out of their way to give really bad answers and would appreciate being rewarded for their efforts. I miss getting -5

no because they may be in a very different place emotionally than the others who are joking. I prefer to just accept their point of view rather than calling them out. You can just skip over the comment and continue your banter.

ok, I’m ready—I loooove me some pumpkin pie! and you can actually see my face, or at least what’s under it!

That happens so many times, my family laughs when they hear me say it out loud.

It depends on the type of question. If someone asks a question wanting a serious answer or an intelligent response on an important issue than the people who have to make joke out of it get on my nerves and make me want to boo them.

Just blow a great big raspberry at em. Although it does mean you’ll be constantly cleaning your monitor screen. Speaking from experience :¬P

Yes, occasionally I do want to and I do it in my own, relatively quiet way, most of the time. In space no one can hear you scream and in cyberspace no one can hear you muttering obscenities under your breath.

rooeytoo's avatar

Often. I think there should be a thumbs down icon to click on just for those occasions.

No.

Because it reminds me for example that tea parties and global warming denial are real.
