It never really occurred to me that a debunking site might be… debunked. I just assume they research as they say they do and are pretty reliable.

They are reliable. I’ve never found them anything but that.

I find them really reliable too.

They are spot on. They are rarely fooled and when they are, they will admit it quickly. You are free to check any of their sources. I have been trusting them to debunk BS for at least 5 years and never had a problem with them.
They have a very high standard of ethics.

Gee, come to think about it, I don’t know. I’ve always trusted them, because everyone else does, but I can’t say I know their actual credentials.
They do give their sources, though. That’s usually a sign of having done their homework. Unless those sources don’t really exist (which should be easy enough to check), I think we can trust that what Snopes says is actually from those sources, since it would make little sense to go through the trouble of finding proper sources and then not use them.

I read that they have no credentials whatsoever but many people do trust their work.

They are very reliable.

In order for their detractors to be valid, they would need to submit some evidence of information on snopes that is wrong. Notice that they do not. I’ve never seen a single report with valid sources refuting any of their claims.

XKCD said it best.

I’ve been checking out snopes for a very long time and I’ve never found any of their info to be inaccurate. I think most people that use the site will agree that they do their research and are a reliable source.
