What was going on in Chicago in the late 60's early 70's?
What were a few of the main events that happened in Chicago during this time. Or does anyone know of any good websites that could help me with this?

Homework? Look up the Chicago 7, Democratic National Convention, Yippees, civil rights….Some keywords to get you started.
Throw in a little bit about Vietnam.
For starters? The Democratic National head bashing in Chicago, the KKK marched through Skokie, and Geraldo Rivera found diddly in Capone’s ‘vault’.
@Ivy
”...the KKK marched through Skokie….”
IIRC, the Nazis marched through Skokie in 1977, although that doesn’t preclude the possibility that the KKK also did in the late 60’s or early 70’s.
Police raid on the Black Panthers and the killing of Fred Hampton.
Folk music scene with John Prine, Steve Goodman, Bonnie Koloc and others
Geraldo opened Capone’s vault in the 80s
Look up Richard Daly as well.
Daddy was a cop. On the east side…. of Chicago.
@Trillian Daddy was a cop. On the east sideā¦. of Chicago.
And bad, bad, Leroy Brown learned a lesson about ‘bout messin’ with the wife of a jealous man
The Sears (now Willis) Tower was under construction.
@Brian1946 You are absolutely right, it was the nazis that marched through Skokie. I’d meant to write nazis, so I think my experiences of that place in those times came through my fingers. I personally never met a nazi there. Come to think of it, I don’t think I ever have. But I did run into the KKK, rumored to be headquartered in Joliet then. Come to think of it, I need to add to my answer of what was going on then…”
Racism.
Sexism.
Blue-collar mentality.
