Help! My kids threw away my instructions for wine making and I need to know what the next step is?
My first foray into wine making and my kids managed to throw away my instructions!
The wine has just finished fermenting and I’ve agitated the heck out of it (to release any residual co2). Now I’m supposed to add either:
a) stabilizer
b)keiselsol
c) chitosan
I have packages for all three. But I don’t know in what order I’m supposed to add them or in what intervals.
Can someone please try to walk me through the last stages?

Are you using a wine making kit? If you are, maybe the manufacturer has the instructions or information on it’s website.
Everything has been thrown out. So now I have no idea what the name of the manufacturer is.
Phone a store that sells kits. I bet they could tell you.
Ack, it was Costco. They had a display that has been gone for weeks.
I think you might up the Chardonnay creek without a paddle. This company sells their wine kits exclusively at Costco so it might be them. Sadly, their faq consists mainly of people asking if they really have to do everything exactly as described in the instructions and them pretty much saying “Yes, you do.” I did a google search on Costco Wine Kits and it looks like there are some forums where there are people who have used Costco kits. You might find some help there. I think you should make your kids stir the wine until you get your answer. They don’t have school tomorrow so they can stay up all night if that’s what it takes. :-)
@lillycoyote LOL thanks!
If I don’t find an answer soon I’ll just wing it. I think the stabilizer goes in first and the others after.
I hoping that it doesn’t matter all that much.
Maybe all is not lost. Try this forum.
Thanks @lillycoyote I’ll post on that forum and see what they say.
If you scroll down and threw the discussion they are talking about the keiselsol and chitosan so maybe you can get the info just from that thread. For some reason, with some questions, I’m like dog with a bone; can’t let go. :-) Good luck. Wine is terrible thing to waste.
Especially 30 bottles of it!
I’ll be expecting 3 bottles in the mail for all the help I’ve been. UPS ground is fine. :-)
With the luck I’ve had with this experiment they would probably arrive broken.
