Are the hummingbirds gone for this year?

Asked by john65pennington (29273points) November 1st, 2010

At my house, the hummers arrived around July 6th. They flew around and played their silly games, until around October 15th. That was the last day for a visual on my tiny bird friends. Question: Have the hummingbirds already migrated south for this year? Is this migrating time the same all over America?

They’re still in San Diego.

Upstate NY: They have been gone since the end of September.

They migrate about the same time the monarchs do…end of September…beginning of October is we have a warm beginning to fall. I’m in Upstate NY…I haven’t seen any here since the first week of October when I still had one hitting my feeder.
