Is there a word to describe this type of person?

Asked by Joe_123 (16points) November 4th, 2010

Someone who is hopelessly deferential to traditional hierarchical power structures, capitalist corporate power, big business, etc, with no apparent sense of defiance, resistance, rebelliousness or moral indignation?

The word I’m looking for is not “Republican”. But more of a general character description.

Your description comes pretty close to what I think is generally referred to as an Authoritarian Personality type.

You called for a “word to describe,” which means an adjective. Is it an adjective you want, or a noun—the name for such a person instead of a descriptor?
