What old movie inspires you?

Asked by BoBo1946 (15325points) November 5th, 2010

I’ve always loved old movie and especially with those movies starring either Gary Cooper or James Stewart.

I’ve picked a scene out of Mr. Deeds Goes To Washington that inspires me. Would like like to post a clip of an old movie that inspires you or a “feel good” clip of a movie. Either will be fine.

Today, maybe the family needs a “feel good” movie.

Here is mine.

You want light and silly? My pick would be The Pirate with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly. Hysterical, and full of singing along, if you like that…

I’m going waaaaay back and saying The General with Buster Keaton ( Silent Film) Funny and always classic, Keaton has always inspired me… I believe laughter is the best thing for the human heart and that man had a huge funny bone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQhOSq5ZFGA

@Fairylover78 Buster Keaton inspires me, too :) There are some amazing cinematic moments in The General. He deserves far more credit as an actor, director, writer, stuntman, all-around-awesome human being…

@muppetish THANK YOU!! I feel the same way! If fact answering this question inspired my husband and I to watch the General right now! Alot of people don’t even know he wrote, directed and did everything in his movies himself! My hubby put him at the top of his blog about the best Directors you should read!
