Presidents/Prime Ministers. Kings/Queens. Whatever you like really. Which leaders of their nation, while in office, do you think did a pretty decent job? Or at least you have an admiration for.

I’ll go with “Who is Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher?” for 200 ,Alex. In my lifetime, anyway
Roosevelt was called the greatest president for a reason lol.
Edit: I was talking about Franklin, but I respect Theo equally as well :)
John F Kennedy, despite what came to light after his death
Nelson Mandela; a shining light
Winston Churchill, because of his leadership during the war
Queen Elizabeth I
“She is only a woman, only mistress of half an island,” marvelled Pope Sixtus V, “and yet she makes herself feared by Spain, by France, by the Empire, by all”
@lucillelucillelucille Those two so had the hots for each other. Maybe Dennis & Nancy were unaware of this “affair.” XD By the way….& this is going to make me look silly, (so what’s new?) You lost me at “for 200, Alex.” Any help forthcoming at all? :¬)
@Blueroses “I may have the body of a weak & feeble woman, but I have the heart & stomach of a King!” Girl power, great example.
Alexander the Great
Lincoln
Ghandi
Another vote to Teddy I’m sorry he kept his promise. May be a totally different USA now if he didn’t.
Another vote for FDR
Golda Meir
Lyndon Johnson (for civil rights)
gorbachev
Barrack Obama
@lucillelucillelucille Margret Thatcher? come over to England and explain your theory to the coal miners up north. Good God woman, do you even know what you are talking about?
i’m going with FDR although i guess we will never know what his global intentions really were, but he crushed Churchill’s Empire for good, that led to state after state gaining self determination and independence from British Governance. So he was my hero for that.
John Howard is the best prime minister Australia has ever had. He was followed by a brainless show pony called Kevin Rudd, and now we have a bogan woman called Julia Gillard with no idea and no mandate to rule. Bring back Johnny!!
@Harold Kevin Rudd fell hook line and sinker for the old WMD trick, now you see ‘em now you don’t, that was a shame. Apart from that he struck me as being emotionally sincere, particularly during the terrible bush fires, i don’t really follow Australian politics much, but didn’t John Howard support Australia’s involvement in Vietnam? that would be enough to strike him off the role call of great leaders for ever.
@mammal – Rudd was insincere, and employed incompetent rock stars as ministers. He was known locally as a “media slut”, and had a policy vacuum. No, John Howard was long after Vietnam- 1996 to 2007.
@Harold i think you’ll find he did support the Vietnam War. Checkout Wikipedia, unless i’ve mistaken him for someone else.
I agree with @jonsblond and @Harold, excellent choices. (I also agree about Kevin & Peter, what wankers and Julia too! Bring back Johnny! Or at least Costello or better yet Downer. I also admired the Kennedys, I may not have always agreed with them, but can’t deny their dedication.
@Blackberry, the best part is that most of the exploits are true, just dressed up with dirty words and hyperbolic language.
