No, only in pictures.

I have seen some UFOs, but by that I mean things in the sky that I did not know what they where. I make no claims regaring their origin.

I have even found out what some of them where over the years. One turned out to be a massive light on top of a night club. That particular one took me a couple of weeks to figure out.

We also have an American army base here in palma, as well as the big ship they have they also have some aircraft, including helicopters. Back in the early 90’s it was quite common to see a big black armed to the teeth helicopter come over the hills, just a few feet of the floor. So im sure a lot of strange things i have seen would turn out to be American army gear. e.g. lights moving way faster than normal.

We also have a lot of hot air balloon events, so im sure some of the slower things i have seen are probably related to that, they are not all the same shape.

One time either someone slipped something in our drinks or something funny was up with the moon because it appeared to be growing and shrinking.

I’ve seen plenty of unidentified objects in the day or night sky. They were probably aircraft, weather balloons, or satellites—which is what most such objects turn out to be. I once saw a “star” moving briskly among the other stars in a perfectly straight line across the sky on a night when the Space Shuttle was flying—cool !

There have been famous UFO hoaxes, such one in recent years involving road flares flown by helium balloons in Arizona. And some really bad classics, like the wheel cover tossed into the air and famously photographed “in the sky” at just the right moment to look like a flying saucer.

I have no reason to believe that any unidentified flying objects are extraterrestrial spaceships stealthily piloted by aliens. But it sure makes for good movies!

The existence of intelligent aliens elsewhere within the Milky Way galaxy is highly plausible, according to scientific estimates based on the Drake equation. There is no credible physical evidence, however, that they have ever visited Earth.

That still leaves the door open for conspiracy theories and other pseudo-scientific fringe evidence. Among UFO sightings there is an inevitable residue of sightings which cannot be validated as ordinary. These have become extremely common post-World War II, when advanced aeronautics and space technology arrived. Roswell / Project Mogul was in 1947.

I’ve never seen one but, I’d like to talk to then, tour their spaceship, and ask them question!

I did, though I am not claiming it was alien, I just clearly saw something and watched it for about 15 seconds and I have no idea what it was. I’m a person that’s intrigued by mysterious things, the occult, the paranormal, but I am at heart a scientist and a skeptic. Before this experience, I never would have thought it would happen to me. Honestly, I’m too much of a skeptic to believe most UFO stories.

But I saw what I saw and I’m 100% positive that I saw it. I had a clear view of it and plenty of time to look at it and check it out. It was about 8:30 in the morning, I was looking out the window in class during a lecture and I saw this football-shaped thing glide by on a slow descent, it looked to be over the river. It seemed to be made out of a smooth white metal that was orangey in the sunrise and reflected the sunlight. There were no wings, tail, windows, or anything but smooth white metal in a football shape. There was no sound, either, like you would expect from an airplane in such close proximity (I was maybe 3 blocks from the river).

No one else seemed to see it and I have no idea what it was.

Reflections and other optical phenomena are another category I forgot to mention earlier. I don’t think it’s particularly unusual or noteworthy to witness unidentified objects or lights in the sky. I mean, so what?

Deja_vu's avatar

I’ve seen ufo’s. The last time was really bizarre. It was huge and really shiney hovering over an area I was heading to (During the day). Lot’s of people saw it. I even got a phone call from a friend that saw it. It was there for a while than it was gone in a blink of an eye. No joke. Gives me goose bumps. I can honestly say I couldn’t identify that flying object.

I thought I did once when I was six, but I’m not sure. ..I’d really like to know what that blue ball was I saw one night with my telescope, though. Doubt it was a spaceship (because of it’s composition), shouldn’t be a planet (because we’re the blue one) and it definitely wasn’t a star or the Moon. No clue, and I never saw it again.
