What song reminds you of riding a bicycle?
Just been thinking about how great bicycles are – trying to choose a song that I could listen to. For some reason french music and things with bells and whistles come to mind…

I can ride my bike with no handle bars no handle bars no handle bars…...
Keep Rolling, Limp Bizkit.
Old song….......Bicycle Built For Two
Personally, i like the song I Can See Clearly Now(the rain has gone). weather forecast for bike riders.
“Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” by B.J. Thomas. That song was playing in the movie *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” when Paul Newman was riding around on the old bicycle with his lady friend sitting on the handlebars. (If memory serves me correctly)
I Heart NY by Samuel.
It just has a nice bicycling beat, although I don’t know how to ride a bike.
Billy Joel – Motorcycle Song
George Thorogood & the Destroyers – Bad to the Bone
@erichw1504 Cool. I would have associated those more with motorcycling. You must be a way cooler bicycler than I am. ;)
@diavolobella Well, I do make motorcycle sounds when I ride my bicycle to work.
@Bluefreedom That’s what I was going to say “Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head”. Check out the You Tube video: “Flying Pigeon, China’s bicycle since 1950”. It somehow captures the fun of riding the bicycle for the first time. It is majic!
Catie Curtis – “Bicycle Named Heaven”
Luka Bloom – The Acoustic Motorbike
Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Bicycle Song”
Way Out by The Way-Outs. For whatever reason, in my mind’s eye, I see them singing it on bikes, even though they didn’t, really.
@john65pennington I didn’t think anyone else would remember ‘A Bicycle Built for Two’. My aunt used to sing it to us after she had a few drinks.
Melanie lyrics:
I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I roller skated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you’re avoiding me
I’m okay alone, but you got something I need
Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out you see
I been looking around awhile
You got something for me
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I ride my bike, I roller skate, don’t drive no car
Don’t go too fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don’t drive
I been all around the world
Some people say, I done all right for a girl
Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out you see
I been looking around awhile
You got something for me
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I asked your mother if you were at home
She said, yes .. but you weren’t alone
Oh, sometimes I think that you’re avoiding me
I’m okay alone, but you’ve got something I need
Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out to see
La la la la la la la la, la la la la la la
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
“Nine Million Bicycles” by Katie Melua (link).
“Bicycle Race” by Queen (link).
Bike, by real old school Pink Floyd, back when Syd Barret still sort of had his shit together.
@cockswain – which reminds me of this song by the 60s Psychedelic pastiche alter ego of the band XTC, The Dukes of Stratosphear, in direct homage: Bike Ride to the Moon
This is what I sing when bicycles go by.
@aprilsimnel I had never heard that song. Quintessential psychdelia. Definitely smacks of the Syd Barret sound. Thanks for turning me on to that while I drop out
I listen to this while I’m riding my bike a lot.
And this has an awesome video.
