As you may have heard, this is Steve Carell’s last season. Who would you pick to replace him?

John Cleese. Imagine how awesome that would be! Just his voice makes me laugh.
@Randy Omygosh, John Cleese would be an amazing regional manager for Dunder Mifflin!
I can’t think of anyone that I would like better than Carell himself (I have trouble imagining The Office without him whatsoever), but as far as plot goes, I think Darryl is going to be the next boss… based on the most recent Halloween episode, anyway.
@ParaParaYukiko I agree. Carell really makes that show what it is. I’m curious to see if the show can last and how it will do so after he leaves. I also agree that the story currently has Darryl headed to the regional manager position and I’m kinda excited about it. I really like Craig Robinson and his character, Daryl. I’d like to see more of him and what better way than to thrust him into head of the office?
I like @Randy‘s idea of John Cleese. The original Office, with Ricky Gervais, is awesome and it would be interesting to see him on this one. Steve’s character really gets on my nerves now so I won’t be sad to see him leave.
No one. They should just end the fucking show.
I’m going to go with good ole original Jim Carrey (not present day Jim Carrey by any means). He could be just as wacky, somewhat sarcastic and zaney in a “sophisticated” office setting, in a way I feel Steve Carell is. He wouldn’t be Steve Carell, but if he had to be replaced, I’d probably send Jim in for the job… the old one.
Karl Pilkington. He has a head like a f***ing orange!
@ParaParaYukiko You’re right, it does seem like Darryl could be headed for that job. I think it would totally change the dynamic of the show to have someone as competent as Darryl in charge. Everything Michael does is so over-the-top, so the rest of the cast kind of plays straight man to him. Darryl seems a lot smarter than most of the characters, and Craig Robinson is really funny in a deadpan, snarky way. It could be really interesting to see what they do with that.
Does it seem like Michael’s having to face reality a little more in this season? Like when he talked to all his exes, and they said he overdoes everything. Or when Darryl said that Michael never helped him. Maybe Michael will become a little more self-aware and look for a better job.
Jason Bateman. It’s been too long since he had the regular show he deserves.
John Noble as Dr. Walter Bishop
@Haleth I definitely think the things Michael’s had to encounter throughout this season so far is leading up to his ultimately leaving the office/show, for whatever reason that may be. I can’t begin to guess how it’s going to go, though. And I wonder how things will go if Daryl does get the job… I mean, he’s much more competent, and not nearly as outlandish as Michael. The whole show will really change… for better or for worse.
Personally, I think I’d like to see the show head more in the direction of the first few seasons when it was basically going along the same plotline of the British version. It’s gotten a little crazy over these past few seasons.
