I can’t choose just 5, only the one’s that I seem to listen to the absolute most. All of these bands/artists really make me feel tons of emotion and inspire the hell out of me.
i know its hard to get it down to just 5 im still working on it
Dave Matthews Band
The Smiths
Counting Crows
The Shins
NIN
Funker Vogt is definitely number one, closely followed by VNV Nation
I also love Cradle of Filth and I really love Blutengel
This last is my recent find.
And I’m not joking, I’m totally and madly in love with The Rednex
I’ve got a lot of favourite bands I guess, but in spirit of the question, I’m choosing the ones that have had the most emotional value for me at certain points of my life, and still do at this point.
I’m also adding Ramstein in there.
Hmm…if I had to pick 5….
1. The Beatles. I’ve been in love with their music ever since I was young, and I really started to appreciate their more pyschedellic and progressive rock as I grew older.
2. Pink Floyd. I was initially drawn to them for their awesome guitar solos, but I really fell for them when I realized how powerful their lyrics and meaning were. Their music has been there for me through some tough times.
3. The Who. I just love them! I could relate to their lyrics, and Quadrophenia is one of my favorite albums.
4. The Shins. They had a sound that I was charmed by, and James Mercer is a LYRICAL GENIUS. I’ve related to a lot of their songs, and they’ve helped me cope with some shitty times. Their upbeat sound and sometimes melancholy lyrics blend in a way I adore.
5. Smashing Pumpkins. I was in a total rut when I began to fall for these guys, and they helped me stay entertained during a rather confusing time in my life. Their sound is just incredible, the swirly/distorted guitars are awesome…
One Republic, The Weepies, HeyHiHello!, Owl City (I count him as a band), Evanescence.
Pink Floyd,Stevie Ray Vaughan,Bad Company,Norah Jones, too many blues artists to name:)
1.) The Beatles
2.) Queen

@Aesthetic_Mess
Do you ever play along with any of your favorite bands’ tunes on your violin?
@Brian1946 I like to play One Republic’s songs, and they’re easy to figure out because the band has string instruments in it.
I’m trying to figure out “Misery” by Maroon 5.
@mama_cakes Here’s a version of My War that was recorded with female vocals that you might find interesting.
