I'm getting hypersomnia for 16 hours then insomnia for 8 hours mixed with anxiety and depression what can I do to pass the time until I can see a doctor?

Asked by talljasperman (21919points) November 8th, 2010

Chatting with my roommate helps but she is sleeping at nights and working during the day… what can I do for now to pass the time? I’m not supposed to be working or doing anything stressful… and I only have some money and I live in a small mountain town… I’m on Clonazepam 0.5 mg twice a day

Call friends during the time you can and chat.

Breathe.

Do yoga or meditate.

I really have no solutions, just can say that I have truly been there- I had that exact problem. I was finally able to see that doctor only when my therapist called herself to request an appointment. I think that a fluther marathon, as suggested by @RealEyesRealizeRealLies is your best hope of passing the time until you can see a doctor.
I wish you rest. Maybe concentrating on something other than the fact that you cannot sleep will help.

Actually, I agree with @answerjill‘s suggestion to read- books have the power to help pass the time for me also. Just make sure to find something that isn’t dry or heavy, something that will act as an escape.
