In alabama how old do you have to be to refuse medical treatment?

Technically in Alabama you aren’t considered an adult until the age of 19; however, I believe if you can obtain a life insurance policy at 18 that would mean you could refuse at that age. I’m no expert in law but I live in Alabama and it seems like I heard this somewhere. I would ask a local life insurance agency.

In general, I would say 19 since that is the legal age of an adult in Alabama. However, I have heard of children getting court orders saying they could refuse care in cases of terminal illnesses. I’m not sure if any of them were in Alabama or not though.
