What person (famous or otherwise) makes you sit up and take notice when you hear them speak. A totally unique voice that you find soothing, seductive or just has you totally enraptured…

Sorry…..Barack Obama, even though he says the same crap, I just like his voice. I also like Jon Stewarts voice. I’ll add Keith Olbermann and Bill Maher as well as Rachel Maddow. As you can tell, I listen to too much politics lol. There are many others including Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and some comedians.
Shohreh Aghdashloo.
Here is a video of her voice. It’s so peculiar, but I love it.
Patricia Clarkson
Laura Linney
Oh dear. I am a voice-person. There isn’t room enough for me to include them all… I’d like to add the late Roscoe Lee Browne and Vincent Price, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, Cate Blanchett, Anjelica Huston, Albert Finney and now I’m going to cover my mouth lest I list a million people. I haven’t even considered voice actors yet… Sterling Holloway had one of the most soothing voices I have ever heard.
I’m in love with Amy Adams because her voice is adorable.
Sam Elliot was the first name to pop into my head, too, and Sean Connery.
Gene Kelly has a very soothing quality to it that I like. Christopher Walken, definately. I even love impersonations of him. Cary Grant, love it. Frankie Boyle, as well. He was pretty much my favorite on Mock the Week and I loved listening to him. Any of the Monty Pythoners, as well.
There’s some really good ones that other people have mentioned, too.
Arresting? That would be the voice of that cop who apprehended me the night that I decided dropping hay bales from the overpass onto the cars would be really fun.
Alec Baldwin
I watched this documentary on the solar system when I was high. Check out the purple prose he uses to describe Venus: “Out of the darkness, a friendly face. The goddess of love. Venus. The morning star… the evening star. She can welcome the new day in the east, say good night in the west. A sister to our planet… Venus is one deadly goddess.”
The whole documentary is like this. When you get too close to the sun: “Maybe we shouldn’t be out here. Maybe we should turn back. But there is something about the sun, something hypnotic, like the Medusa… luring us onwards. On. Like a moth to a flame.” He gently caresses the words with his deep, breathy voice, like caressing a lover. It’s the hammiest performance I’ve ever heard, which I think is exactly what they were going for. WIN.
I second Morgan Freeman.
If only he could narrate my life.
Nigella Lawson
Leonard Nimoy
Morgan Freeman
John O’Hurley
my husband;-)
Alan Rickman, Patrick Stewart and Paul McCartney.
@AmWiser and YES to John O’Hurley : )
Oh gosh, I totally forgot to mention Frank Langella in the 1979 version of Dracula! That voice… I’d love to see Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) and Dracula (Mr. Langella) in a cape-off! Whatever that is. I make up stuff in my mind.
Stephen Hawking. Reminds me of my childhood, playing Speak & Spell. What a fun yet educational toy that was :¬)
@Blackberry You listen to too many liberal voices too, buddy.
@plethora Do you have any suggestions for me :)
Anthony Hopkins
