Question around wireless spectrum investing.

Asked by mrlaconic (3990points) November 12th, 2010

I am fairly new to investing and I am very interested in investing in wireless. I have some shares in clearwire.

My question is now that the FCC has opened the white spaces to build superwifi is there anyone other then clearwire I should invest in to make and if so who and why.

If you are an expert in wireless and have a longterm holding strategy or value investing strategy that would probably work.

This is a bit different though. So if this is the signal you were thinking of, it probably isn’t it. Space is being set aside for many devices over a wifi network (the article mentions microphones)...so this is about a new wifi device standard. Clearwire has a wimax network, which will enable better parts of this, but that’s all I can think of.

There’s two ways to go in investing in buying stocks in a specific market.
1. Target only gainers (going price strong)
2. Balance your portfolio to mitigate risk within the market
3. go for under value

There’s still a lot of flavours of what you can do in any of these.

Pick the style that works for your personality, as this will be the one that you will apply discipline to.

Cheers.
