Software recommendations for mapping a social web?

Asked by BarnacleBill (16138points) November 12th, 2010

I am working on a project where I need to create a map of a social web, showing how people, place, occupation and year are connected. The people do not have e-mail addresses, and aren’t on Facebook.

Looking for suggestions on how to approach this project. So far I’m using post-it notes and string, tacked to Foamcore.

You need something like a web site, facebook alternative? I dont understand exactly what you need

Like visio, but much more flexible. I need to be able to link individuals together – A is connected to B, C, D, E, F and B and C are linked to Z but in NYC, where as E is linked to Z but in Chicago and F is linked to G in Atlanta and G is linked to Z in NYC.

Sort of like a degrees of separation, but visual.

Thank you for asking for an explanation; it make me think of a way to possibly do this in Mindnode
