Do I need a rug pad?

Asked by andrew (16562points) April 3rd, 2007
I'm about to get a super great 6'x9'shag rug from crate and barrel. They recommend a rug pad. Do I need one on my hardwood floor?

Yes. Adds years to the life of rug and if the floor is polished, will keep you (and unspecting others) from slipping. Your Home Owners' may have the same limitations as yr Blue Shield so err on the side of caution.

Yes, ikea has very cheap ones that work okay, and pottery barn makes some that work well, but are slightly more.
