I have to ask- who else is excited about the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 this week?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) November 15th, 2010

My friend and I have had our tickets for two weeks now, and we’ll be getting in line around 9:30PM to get a good seat this Thursday, for the midnight premiere.

I know I’m a total dork, but I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!

I’m excited too. I have all the other movies. Smile

I have lost touch with the Potter franchise, but I must admit to some curiosity about the end. I will probably wait until Part II is out before seeing it though.

So excited! We’re there asap!

Now I am.

My daughter gets to see it tomorrow night. She had the good sense to make friends with the movie critic’s daughter. What this means, is we probably won’t see it, since she will already have seen it.

@wundayatta Oh no, LOL! You just come on down here and go with us. I’m sure we can get another ticket!!!

I’m looking forward to it.

Going to watch it at Gold Class Cinemas. All shows 21+ so I can drink beer and there will be no screaming 3 year old kids who haven’t even read the books to interrupt me :)

@mrlaconic Hooray on the no kid thing! Since I’m watching at midnight, there shouldn’t be too much of a problem with little kids; it’s the texting teenagers I’m worried about. I went to a movie recently where this lady was texting and texting and texting and refused to shut her phone off, despite numerous people asking her to. The only reason she finally turned it off was because I nailed her head with popcorn and half the theater applauded. I hate phone people in the movies.

I’m not a Potter fan at all, but I have read the first book and seen it’s movie. I am a bit curious to see how it ends. So, I think at some point I will catch both the Deathly Hallow films on DVD.

Yeah I have to say he does nothing for me, probably because my kids never really got into those movies. Although Hermione filled out nicely didn’t she. Phew….... she’s so hot! :¬)

I am excited about it, although I doubt I will get to see if right away.

I couldn’t care less, but my daughter has been begging to go to the midnight show for weeks. Since I enjoy breaking her spirit, I’m saying no. Well… that, and she’s twelve.

Im very excited too!! I’m also going to the midnight premiere !!

I am looking forward to seeing it, but not so much that I’d torture myself with a midnight show. And, no one I know would see it with me at that time except my daughter, but she’s 11 and turns into an evil spawn of the devil when she stays up that late.

I’ll definitely see it with my daughter, but who goes with us depends on who we can trick into babysitting for my 7 and 5 year old boys. Yes, I’m excited, even though I know I’ll be really irritated at whatever they change from the book. :P

I’m waiting until Sunday. I can’t bear the “first night” crowds at films anymore.

I’m not that excited about Harry Potter per se, but I am excited in seeing any movie with Alan Rickman! Yea!

Jeruba's avatar

@Kardamom, I’ve just (March 2022) seen The Song of Lunch, a 2010 pairing of Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson. Both were brilliant. I don’t know any way to make the storyline sound interesting, but I was kind of blown away. It’s all about character. Imagine if you can a tragic blend of Snape and Kierkegaard.
