I pronounce it ba LO nee. Haven’t had it in years but the way I fixed it was fried then put on bread with mayonnaise. Do you eat the stuff and how do you fix yours?

Funny, I just had a bologna sandwich last weekend and commented that I hadn’t had bologna in years.
It’s a pretty simple recipe. Two pieces of bread. A small amount of mayo, a slice of bologna, and a slab of American cheese (erm… cheese like product).
An all American picnic lunch and quite fun to share with a group of cub scouts.. :)
I still eat it.
I eat it a few different ways. Sometimes just on regular wheat bread with mayo, spicy brown mustard, and american cheese. Sometimes I toast the bread. Sometimes I fry the bologna. Sometimes I make it like a grilled cheese sandwich with bologna. It just depends on the mood I’m in. Sometimes I eat it all by itself.
When I was a kid I would make “bologna bowls” for breakfast.
I would fry the bologna on one side and then flip it over and let it puff up like a little bowl and then serve scrambled eggs with cheese in the bologna bowl.
@YoBob Aw, my mom did that when I was a kid. You just made me think of that. {{hugs}}
@YoBob that sounds great with toast !
Haven’t had it in at least 15 years and I like to pronounce it “ba-log-na”.
ba LOG na? gee; I thought everyone said ba LO neee. Which, of course, sounds ridiculous.
Don’t you guys watch the Oscar Myer bologna comercials? Sheesh! It’s ba LO ne as Aster said.
@YoBob We had those bologna bowl things too when I was a kid.
My recipe:
1. Take bologna out of package.
2. Toss bologna in nearest trash receptacle. All done!
I haven’t had it since I was a kid but I used to eat balogna with ketchup, either just rolled up,
or in a sandwhich- sometimes with cheese.
My best friends swears by “balogna cup” fried balogna with
mashed potatos inside… beats me.
@boxer3 Like a Doug Heffernan ham ‘n cheese doobie?
I have not touched the stuff since I worked in the meat packing plant and learned what goes into it.
I’ve never eaten bologna in my life. Or Spam.
A Spam omelet with bell peppers and onions is great, though a little salty! Spam is an American institution that I have in the cupboard and never eat.
Soft white bread, a slice of bologna, and a substantial amount of ketchup.
Sometimes I do the mayo and American cheese like @YoBob.
When I ate ba-Lo-nee, it was just like @Aster, fried w/mayo. It had to be crispy around the edges.
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten it, except maybe as a child.
