I know it’s vapid celeb trivia-but for some reason I just don’t buy it- the notion that she’s hetero

Who knows. What I do know is that her voice is deeper than mine and she certainly talks like a dude.
In any case, I’m sure half of the dudes in Hollywood can attest to her orientation.
I’d say that you’d have to ask her. My question is, why would she keep it a secret? In todays times, its not uncommon to see a lesbian or gay man. Most certainly not in the Hollywood scene.
Name some lesbian actresses (not in porn) that make FHM lists or appeal to men.
Here is a better question: why is it any of your business if she’s gay or straight?
@ xgunther- I believe the answer to that would be because she is in the celebrity spotlight. It’s an obvious given that when you reach “star” status, your personal secrets and “me” time go out the window. I’m not sure why so many stars seem to have a problem with that. They know its coming, right?
right, obviously not my buisness but I find it mildly interesting that the sex symbol for guys across the country would have to conceal their own sexuality because there has never been a universally attractive, 20 somthing celebrity who happens to be gay. My point being- it is not acceptable in Hollywood.
Well then, let’s dive a bit deeper, shall we?why is that? I’m sure there are “universally” attractive people out there. Everyone has different tastes. I’m compleatly hetro, but I think Brad Pitt is a good looking guy. Some women, and gay men would agree. The catch is some might dissagree. You see, a persons sexual preference doesnt make a difference to someone who thinks they are attractive. It all depends on the person.
@randy—but Scarlett is very media shy. She hates the paparazzi and them being around her. She CHOOSES to hide from the spotlight. So maybe we should respect that, and let her be—what difference does it make to you knowing that she’s gay or straight?
And I live in Hollywood and have never heard any rumors of her being gay. Sooo
What she’s a lesbian? Damn. Now I have no chance.
@ xgunther- Man, it comes with the territory. She knew what she was getting into. People who are scared of heights don’t become skyscrape builders, ya know? People who are claustrophobic don’t become submarine operators. People know what they are getting into when they choose a career. If they don’t then they deserve far worse than what they end up with. If she wanted a low profile, she shouldnt have done so much main stream work, make sense? She can more money that way, but it comes at a price….her privacy.
Isn’t it possible that she loves what she does: Acting? She is a very talented actress. So what you’re saying is that talented people shouldn’t pursue what makes them happy if they don’t want all the fame?
People can still act and not be famous. There’s always ways around certain things. She knew what was coming when she decided to take big, well know roles that were going to put her face out there for the public.
If she is she is. Her orientation certainly seems hetero in the movie Match Point ~ the scene of her and Rhys Meyers in the field is smoldering.
Just think of all the happy woman today!!!
@Randy: we don’t really know there’s never been a universally attractive gay star,
because stars have stayed in the closet until so recently.
IMHO, who cares what her orientation is-does it affect her ability to do her job? I think it’s honorable that some actors still hold in high regard their right to privacy, just like the rest of us… we should respect that, even if the media suggests otherwise.
(soap boxing here—>) The whole celebrity worship thing is a ploy by the big companies to get you to fill those movie theatre seats (and buy those DVDs) anyways, at any cost…“Sign your soul to Rock n’ Roll” as they say. The paparazzi are just bottom-feeders that have helped soil what used to be an industry of higher standards.
Now I’m feeling old…
@ sndfreQ- I agree compleatl. In todays times though, its become the norm for no celebrity to have privacy. Because its become a big money business, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
BTW the correct spelling of her name is Scarlett Johansson
... I figured if we’re going to pick apart her sexual orientation we should at least spell it correctly.
ouch, I hate spelling errors, especially my own.
Anyways, I’m starting to get the idea I’m alone on this one- in any event it was just a hunch.
she’s engaged to Ryan Reynolds, it was announced today ~ May 5, 2008
