How much does it cost to upload a website with iWeb?
I’m doing a group project and I’m trying to create a website for my group’s fabricated company with Dreamweaver, however I’m a beginner with the program and things aren’t going as smoothly as I had hoped so I was thinking about switching over to iWeb.

Hate to be this guy, but I wouldn’t do it. Dreamweaver is much, much more powerful than iWeb, and a lot of the code iWeb creates is atrocious.
If you can, brush up on some HTLM at w3schools and see if Dreamweaver ends up any easier to comprehend, but if that’s not an option I’d see about Rapidweaver. It’s much, much better than iWeb and has the same visual approach and Mac-like atmosphere.
@dverhey But what about the price to upload a site to a server?
It’s free provided you find a hosting provider or use your own server box.
There isn’t a price to use the upload functionality of the program, but if you want it to be professional you will need to pay for some hosting or at least some server upkeep.
And how much does that cost?
iWeb looks different on each browser. It cannot be trusted beyond very basic designs.
I forget the name of the technology, but I know there’s a lot of hype about some new web based design, where you don’t even need a program. I’m probably butchering the concept, but the brief look I gave it seemed very promising.
Maybe someone else knows better what I’m trying to say.
You can get free web hosting, try 000webhost.com
Just gotta upload your files through FTP and your done. Good luck with your project.
Usually ranges around 25$ a month for a standard hosting plan plus a yearly fee for a domain name, but like @arturodiaz said, there are free hosts out there that will provide you your own domain and hosting, they usually just have ”.freewebs.org.ca” or ”.webs.org” tagged on to the end of the URL, which is okay for a personal site but not so good for something professional.
You cast anywhere with iWeb! That said, look at fatcow.com or 1&1.com. Both are affordable. Just have iWeb publish the files locally and then FTP them.
@dverhey @andreaxjean I’m assuming her site is for a school project so a anual fee is not an option, besides if its just basic HTML files should be served pretty fast anyway, doesnt really matter if you get a VPS with 16GB of ram or a modest shared server
