What source could I consult to find out music Genres?
(Not that I indispensably need it.. I’m already a music genie)
;)
But I am curious.. I visit Allmusic.com every now and then.. quite good. Accurate.
But it does miss out on plenty individual album/Artist genres.. so..
Are there any other similar sites?
(Or, perhaps.. even a software?..oooooh….!

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but surely you have tried Pandora? They do that kind of thing.
Sounds like to me something the Google does.
Well wikipedia’s list manages to include all of the most obscure genres I could think of and so much more than I could have come up with so if it’s genres you’re interested in they’re filthy with them.
Edit: unfortunately they some how missed Cambodian surf rock and acid folk rock. Lame.
@wundayatta Yes I’ve tried to try Pandora.. but since I’m not in the Us, I can’t use the bloody thing.
@ETpro Nope.. haven’t had much luck with googly-google-goo.
@fundevogel True, I’ve also noticed that..
indeed.. how could those too indispensable elements be left out? my goodness. so unprofessional.
Ok, I agree with the wiki-thingy.
But Is there something MORE specific? (if it’s not asking for too much)
@Anatelostaxus & @fundevogel Makes y9ou wonder what else is missing. My goodness, they don’t even cover Siberian Funk/Country Fusion.
@Anatelostaxus Searching something as simple as “music by genre” in Google brings up lots of resources. The previously mentioned Wikipedia article is one. Yahoo Directory also contains lots. Putting together what multiple resources cover ought to get you close to a complete list, and you can always search for a specific genre by name to find sample music of that style. Read up on the Boolean search techniques for even finer tuning of Google and Bing searches.
For electronic junkies Ishkur’s Guide is just plain awesome. The site kind of hurts my eyes, but it’s a great place to go to discover and learn about more music.
omg its so fucking ugly…. Pretty cool site though.
