I'm trying to find a way to find prices for groceries online....

Asked by Perchik (5002points) April 7th, 2007
I don't go grocery shopping much. I have some recipes that I want to try, but I don't know how much they'll cost me. Does anyone know of a site that I can see average prices of stuff- like a block of cream cheese? [I don't want to go to the store to check prices because it's a decent drive]

I know safeway has online shopping for certain areas-- you have to enter your zipcode so they can give you your areas pricing. If you're somewhere not near a safeway, try 94501 (that's Alameda, CA), which might be a little high for you if you're outside the SF Bay Area, but might give you some ballpark prices.

everyone in new york city uses freshdirect.com , but those will be new york prices. so you could probably subtract 10% and be closer to what it would cost outside of NYC.
