I found myself checking fluther while out at the bar with old out of town friends. We had a great time… but I still checked in on fluther.
Why? Why was I hanging out with my friends and fluther IF fluther was not my friend?

Fluther may not be your friend, but many of the people on Fluther probably are! Plus, yeah, it’s addictive.

I like to look at it this way. Fluther is my elderly neighbor/relative that needs to be checked in on. I come in, sit and chat for a little bit, then leave. Sometimes I’ll spend the entire day, if needed, and will always drop off a pie on the holidays.
This makes me feel better about why I visit, and I don’t need to worry if I’m addicted. ;)
Do I consider fluther more of a friend or an addiction? Like my underwear: it depends.
I would say it can be both, @seazen – codependency is using your friendships much like a drug.

When I’m not home I don’t think about Fluther. This is only something I do when I’m home because I live in a rural area. I most likely will not be caught using an iphone or something similar to check Fluther when I’m not at home.

Boy. I haven’t checked fluther on the road yet but it has made an appearance in my dreams twice, including last night. I don’t remember the exact circumstance but I was talking to a “real” person in my dream and suddenly I was looking at a fluther thread response dealing with the situation (including a wundayatta paragraph with 13 GAs)
