Do you pile on blankets, or turn up the furnace?

Winter is coming to my area of the country. This morning it was in the twenties.
There seems to be two kinds of people when it comes to sleeping during the winter-those that turn up the furnace, and those that keep it cool and pile on blankets.
For the record, I am the blanket type.
What about you?

Windows wide open, lots of blankets!!! Heat only goes on when I shower
Chilled room and blankets (hubby as foot warmer when needed). Furnace programmed to come on before I get up, so that the bathroom is toasty warm.
Our furnace stays at 65 degrees during the winter. We have a great comforter that keeps us very warm at night. Almost too warm sometimes.
I like snuggling down under the weight of several blankets. I prefer cool at night.
My girl, the soul of practicality. Why didn’t I think of that? ; -)
Put on warm pajamas and turn up the furnace. No heavy blankets for me.
I inherited my grandmas hand knit wool blankets that are stellar for staying warm and I take them when I go camping in the winter! Toasty warm!!!
The more layers, the better! I love the feel of cool air around me while I’m snug like a bug in a rug. Cuddling is so much better when it’s cold around and I definitely get better quality sleep.
@Trillian That, and many other hints are in my book,“How to Win Friends and Influence People”;)
Sounds more like; “Burn friends and inferno people. ;-) THANK YOU!!!!
Bedroom at 58˚. A down comforter plus Milo keeps me toasty.
Leave the furnace alone- the price of natural gas distribution costs would break me. I have a down duvet and usually leave the window above my head open a bit. It hurts if there is a bathroom call, though.
Blankies! I love big soft blankets. I have three comforters on my bed, plus one thin blanky. In cold times like now, I open my window, which is right besides the bed, and bury myself underneath everything. I also have six pillows and two cushions to help. I doubt people could even see me in there if they walked by. Still, I can always feel some of the Winter air on my head and it feels nice. Fuck furnaces and heating.
Of course I don’t sleep this way in the Summer; but as much as I can anyways, because I like soft stuff lol.
I have an alpaca wool blanket. I need nothing else.
Where I live now there are two heaters in my house. One is at the foot of my bed and one is in the kitchen, two rooms away. I like the heat to be on low, but I can’t have the bedroom heater on ever. It gets so dry, and so hot no matter what. Also it’s loud and annoying. So we keep the kitchen heater on low and it gets a little chilly in our room which is absolutely perfect. A few blankets and snuggling makes one cozy and content.
Furnace. One of my constant memories of childhood is being so cold at night that I would lay in bed shivering for what seemed like an hour. Sleeping with several pairs of socks on, and 6 blankets is a miserable feeling.
I turn off the heat and snuggle under a single fiber-filled (I think) warmer.
I live in the Los Angeles area, so one is all I need.
I turn up the heat. For me, it’s the chilly air that I can’t stand. I can be covered in blankets but my nose will still be cold and the chilly air will be hitting my face. Only the heater can get rid of that.
Blankies, comforters and flannel sheets. I love flannel sheets! It’s like sleeping with bunnies.
A little of both. I don’t like the room too cool but I don’t like it roasting either. When it gets cold I sleep in sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Blankets, sleeping bags, and comforters piled high. Besides, the more blankets on a bed, the neater the bed stays.
I only turn the heat on when I first awake, for about an hour.
I like to keep the heat down and pile on the blankets. Same in the summer…I like my AC set to sub-zero and sleep under a pile of blankets.
