Are there any question and answer sites geared toward women and family issues?

Asked by jonsblond (44316points) November 30th, 2010

A supportive community where I could get help with family issues and maybe a recipe or two?

Thank you.

Is this the kind of thing you mean? I didn’t really check it out, I’ve just heard of it a few times…

@JilltheTooth That could work. Thank you. I’ll have to take a look at it. :)

I was going to suggest the same place as @JilltheTooth. :-) I’ve been on that site for a few years now. Sometimes it’s slow, but I’ve always got a response to my questions.

Maybe Salon.com? I don’t visit, but I’ve heard things on the grapevine that lead me to believe it might suit you.

@papayalily Not quite what I’m looking for. Looks too newsie and tech related. Looking for more family related topics. Thank you for answering though.

The Young Mommy Life Community sounds like what you are looking for. They even have a blog. Here is their website:

http://www.theyoungmommylife.com/community/

If you have a Facebook page, here’s the link to the same website:

http://www.facebook.com/theyoungmommylife

I hope this helps.

@bkcunningham1 I wish I had that community available to me when I was 24 with a newborn and 2 year old. I’m now 39 with a six year old. Can 39 be young? teehee I’ll still take a look at it. Thank you. :)

Hey, when I discovered the site for my daughters with children, I thought the same thing you just said. And yes, 39 is young. It is all relative. We are all aging at the exact same time as a newborn baby. My dad is 91. Think he’d trade ages with you?

I loved Focus on the Family when my children were the same age as your’s. It is Christian based, and very opened minded and realistic for today’s issues:

You’ve been a great help. Thank you @bkcunningham1.

Isn’t Focus on the Family the anti-gay, anti-black/Asian/Latino, anti-women organization?

bkcunningham1's avatar

papayalily, not that I’m aware. Educate me please. What is your question based on? Do you have a link?

The founder claimed that “Most gays and lesbians do not want to marry each other…the intention here is to destroy marriage altogether.”
They funded the Tim Tebow Superbowl abortion ad.
That’s all for now, time to study.

The “Urban Monk” is awesome. I can only take small doses because he can be so intense, and boring. I am sure you can find something there, however.

I guess there are copy cats, this is the one I am talking about.
