I think Oprah’s job description is as follows:

Take advantage of ignorance while supporting dubious and inaccurate medical fallacies that ultimately cost lives.

Oprah hosted her own talk show. Through the years, as she became more popular, she took ownership through her contracts and became rich.

I’m sorry, but you do not get that rich without a lot of intelligence and talent. It’s not about being able to fool the public, nor is it the backup money of some man. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Oprah was willing to work very hard, and she has a lot of good business sense. That’s what it takes. There’s no magic to it. You have to work hard for your breaks.

@wundayatta I would urge you to examine some of the dubious and patently false crap she hoists on her viewers in the name of “medicine”. I did want to be a fat talk show host once upon a time so I can see why you would use the sour grapes analogy, but alas, I am thin and my dreams have been thwarted.

Also, being full of shit doesn’t preclude working hard. It’s entirely possible (even probable) that she worked hard while being a pseudo-scientific nincompoop.
