Are there any words for these feelings?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7999points) December 2nd, 2010

These feelings, specifically:

* the one where your heart drops when you hear something completely devastating.
* the one where your heart leaps when you hear from someone you’re fond of.
* the one where you’re trying to think of something but its just out of grasp.

Are there words or phrases that go with these descriptions?

1. feeling like you were hit by a truck/heart dropped into stomach, feeling butterflies in the tummy/elation, I call this ‘2 am in the morning’, lol but I really don’t think that kind of thing has a word.

I felt like I was falling off a cliff. heartbroken All the light left my world.

* the one where your heart leaps when you hear from someone you’re fond of.

It made my heart skip a beat. I was floating on air. Warm memories embraced me.

* the one where you’re trying to think of something but its just out of grasp.

Right on the tip of your tongue. The thought just left my head. It’ll come back to me in a minute. It just slipped my mind.
