Will you send snail mail Christmas cards this year and why?
It seems the number of Christmas cards we get dwindles every year. I still love to send them and receive them.
Will you be sending them this year?
P.S. I love to get Christmas letters too even if they are nothing but brags.

Yes. I send about 30 every year.
I send a bunch about every 5 years or so. When I was growing up my Mom made herself nuts with lists of “obligation” cards so I vowed to do it only when I want to, and only to people I want to. It’s nice to know that people send me cards because they want to , not as some sort of required exchange.
I love to send, and receive, Christmas cards. It shows you are thinking of people, and they are thinking of you.
I usually send about 70 and receive the same back.
—That has just reminded me I haven’t sent my cards abroad yet – must get to work on those immediately—-
I have never sent Christmas cards and do no think that I will do so this year either. I do have every intention of keeping correspondence with two friends over the holidays, though. I am sure a wish of good tidings will enter our exchange at some point.
I usually don’t,but I might send a few out in April. ;)
I always send a few to relatives and close friends. Getting Christmas cards is one of the things that I actually like about this time of year and I also like buying my Christmas cards from one of my favourite charities (usually an animal related one!) to send out. Makes it feel that little bit more worthwhile.
My boyfriend and I decided to make christmas cards for all our family/friends. Every other night we watch a christmas movie while we work hard on each individual card.
Not only is it fun, but it’s cheaper, too!
I have noticed our incoming cards dwindling too but I will still send Christmas cards out this year, as always. What I started doing last year was taking many of the Christmas cards we received in prior years, cutting off the fronts, trimming them down, and pasting them on red or green blank cards that you can get in craft stores with matching envelopes. I get to revisit and enjoy all the past cards once more, and then send on some of my favorites for someone else to receive and enjoy. It’s fun to have so many different cards to choose from, feels creative, and recycles. I put a little recycling symbol on the back and a note circling it, “recycled for you by <me>. I can’t wait to send them out again this year!
I love Christmas cards. I actually save the artwork from ones that I especially like and have been known to pick them up year round in thrift stores. It’s fun to receive and display them too.
My favorites are the ones from the 50’s and 60’s. I just love that type of artwork.
If I had more time and slightly more motivation, I would make my own cards. I have lots of ideas, but not enough time or money or materials to pull it off.
I will send about 20 cards to close friends and relatives in the mail and hand deliver some others with gifties. I was lucky to get a very nice set of cards at the 99 Cent Only store this year. You never know what they will have, but when I spotted them, I knew they were the ones.
Nope. I’m not really a Christmas card kinda gal, nor am I a snail mail kinda gal. However, occasionally I do find a someecard that actually reminds me of someone (instead of just making me laugh my head off) and I do care enough to click “send”.
I’ll be sending about 20. I have relatives who either don’t have internet access, or ones who do but would be horribly offended by somethng as cheap as an e-card.
We send several each year, and enjoy receiving them, as well. Gone are the days where I enlisted the entire family in making homemade cards; however, I require sign their own name.
I usually send out a Christmas letter, talking about how we have done this past year, but I may not this year. So many people are struggling and having a hard time just making the bills and keeping their homes, I feel like I am kind of in their face about how good we are doing.
Yes, because I can’t send coasters or cross stitch ornaments by e-mail.
I used to engrave “Seizin’s Greetings” into regifted fruitcakes, and send those out to function as both a holiday greeting and a gift.
I don’t do that anymore since my fruitcake chisel broke. :-p
I will send some. Like others the Christmas cards we receive are less than years before. We also send less Cards. Too bad that snail mail Christmas cards are not as big as they used to be.
