How to post on new facebook?

I updated to the “new” (i think beta) facebook and now I can’t post messages.
How do I change back to the “old” facebook?

You can’t send private messages or you can’t post status updates? The empty field at the top of the news feed is gone, but you can just click on whatever type of post you want to make to your profile (Status/Photo/Link/Video).

Confirming what @seelix stated. At the top under “News Feed” you can click what you want to share. There are options for Status, photo, link, and video.
