How dangerous is absinthe?

For starters, I’m not asking because I really want to try it. I’m just curious, a lot of people make it out to be very dangers, and I want to know if anyone can give me the dirt on the stuff? Has anyone on Fluther ever tried it? Would you consider trying it again?
