What if a boy gives you a ring but you realise you dont like him that way?

We’ll this guy that i have been talking to off and on since august has givin me a ring. It’s not real but it’s pretty but me and him have been together before and he was the one to call it off. And i have wanted him but now that i have him and the ring i dont want him anymore. So what does that mean?
