How long does body lotion last?

Asked by Jude (32207points) December 15th, 2010

I was going through some boxes last night and a I found an opened jar of Crabtree and Evelyn’s Botanical Body Butter. I am pretty sure that it’s 3 years old. There is still quite a bit in there.

Just wondering if it’s any good. It smells alright.

Try it out! ….on your feet first then work your way up if they don’t fall off! XD

Crabtree has pretty wonderful stuff. I have so much that I rotate and I’m pretty sure some of it is older than yours. No body parts have been damaged by smelling good. yet

I’ll try it, Lucyloo.

@JilltheTooth It’s this one and I used to use all of the time. It’s the smell and she’s thick. :)

Yummy! I’ll have to add that to my collection!

I’m sure it’d be fine to use – the only thing that may be “wrong” with it is that some of the liquid/oil may have separated… give it a good shake and enjoy :)

Ah, the lengths you ladies go to be soft and smell good. It should be fine. It may separate like Seelix said, but its not a perishable commodity.

@Adirondackwannabe : One of the advantages we have over you guys… we can get away with smelling like flowers or fruit and no one thinks it’s weird. And “soft” isn’t so much an issue with me as “not cracked and bleeding in this really cold really dry stupid f***ing weather”.
Did I mention that I like to smell like food??? ;-)

@JilltheTooth Slather on the body lotion. I’m suffering through the same dry stuff. Old body lotion would be better than no body lotion.

I’d like it if they made pizza smelling body lotion.

At that point, they wouldn’t have made anything with parabens, so it was made to last. Use away!

This is body lotion and basically has no expiration date. If you see that the oil has somewhat separated then shake the bottle and enjoy the product.
